Types

4 packaging categories explained

Folding carton

The workhorse of retail packaging. Made from solid cardboard (typically 250 to 600 gsm), die-cut and folded into product boxes, tuck-end cartons, display boxes, and sleeve packs. Used for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, electronics, and consumer goods. We produce from 250 to 500,000 units per run. Standard lead time: 7 to 12 business days from approved artwork.

Corrugated packaging

Single-wall, double-wall, and triple-wall corrugated board for shipping boxes, product packaging, and point-of-sale displays. Flute profiles from micro (E/F) for retail to heavy-duty (BC) for industrial. Full-color flexographic or digital printing. Custom die-cuts, inserts, and dividers. From 50 to 100,000+ units.

Flexible packaging

Pouches, sachets, flow wraps, shrink sleeves, and roll stock for food, coffee, pet food, and cosmetics. Materials include PE, PP, PET, aluminum laminates, and compostable films. Barrier properties customized to product requirements: moisture, oxygen, UV, aroma. Minimum order from 1,000 pieces for digital, 5,000 for flexo.

Rigid packaging

Premium boxes with a rigid chipboard core wrapped in printed paper, fabric, or specialty materials. Used for luxury goods, spirits, electronics, and gift sets. Features include magnetic closures, ribbon pulls, foam inserts, and hot-foil branding. From 100 units — ideal for brands that need shelf presence without mass-market volumes.

Sustainability

Sustainable packaging that meets EU regulations

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) entered into force in 2024 and sets binding targets for recyclability, recycled content, and waste reduction through 2030 and beyond. By 2030, all packaging placed on the EU market must be recyclable. By 2040, it must be recyclable at scale. These are not guidelines — they are law.

We help clients navigate this transition. Every packaging project includes a material sustainability assessment at no extra cost. We recommend the most compliant option that meets your functional requirements — barrier properties, shelf life, branding quality — without defaulting to the cheapest or most familiar material.

Our production partners hold FSC Chain of Custody certification for paper and board products. We source recycled cardboard with 70 to 100% post-consumer content. Water-based and UV-curable inks replace solvent-based systems wherever technically feasible. Compostable films are available for food-contact flexible packaging.

Sustainability credentials

  • FSC-certified — Chain of Custody for all paper and board substrates. Traceable from forest to finished product.
  • Recycled content — Corrugated board with 80 to 100% recycled fiber. Folding carton from 30 to 70% recycled depending on application.
  • Water-based inks — Default for corrugated and paper-based flexible packaging. No VOC emissions during printing.
  • Biodegradable options — PLA films, cellulose-based barriers, and compostable laminates for food packaging.
  • PPWR-ready — Material selection guided by the 2024 EU regulation. We flag non-compliant materials before production.
  • Mono-material design — Where possible, we design packaging from a single material type to simplify recycling streams.
